The creator of Spanx, Sara Blakely, unveiled a shoe that purports to be as comfortable as a pair of sneakers while still having the appearance of high heels. Of course, jokes on the internet started to surface.

When a high heel and a sneaker cross paths, what do you get? Sara Blakely, the founder of Spanx, founded the luxury shoe and shoe brand Sneex.

Although Blakely's most recent innovation has only been on the market for a week, the reaction to the "hy-heels" has been varied on the internet. Some understand it, some are strongly against it, and some value the vision.


According to a press release from the firm, Sneex "blends the style of a traditional high heel with the performance and comfort of a sneaker."

With the development of Sneex, Blakely was able to address "three key pain points" common to high heel construction, noting that the hybrid heels provide "women comfort and walkability without compromising style."

Blakely stated in a statement, "I wanted to create a luxury high heel that prioritizes how women feel, not just how we look." The idea that "beauty is pain" is pushed to us, but I don't think it has to be. I've sought to find a solution to this issue as a customer for years."

Blakely encourages women to test Sneex for themselves, saying that the "magic hidden inside" can only be experienced.

A team of paleontologists found matching dinosaur footprints on what are now two different continents, separated by thousands of miles of ocean.  The footprints, dating back to the Early Cretaceous period, were found in Brazil and in Cameroon , researchers wrote in a study published Monday by the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science.
