The Russian Foreign Ministry is in an effort to "clarify" the 39-year-old founder and CEO of Telegram's imprisonment.

Pavel Durov, the founder and CEO of Telegram, was taken into custody at the Paris airport Bourget on suspicion of charges relating to the program. A preliminary inquiry led to the issuance of a French arrest order for Durov, 39, who was departing from Azerbaijan aboard his private jet. Read Here

The wealthy Durov is accused of fraud, drug trafficking, cyberbullying, and organized crime by France's OFMIN. Additionally, he is charged with neglecting to address the negative use of Telegram. It is probable that Durov may be charged on Sunday. Read Here

Police believe that the absence of moderators on the messaging app allowed criminal activities to continue unchecked, which is why they are focusing their investigation on this issue.
