Huawei’s new Tri-fold phone gets 2.7 million pre-orders before Apple’s iPhone 16 launch

. On Monday, Huawei's website displayed that the company had received over 2.7 million pre-orders for its tri-fold smartphone. Pre-orders for the Mate XT were opened by the Chinese business on Saturday at noon. That was more than two days before Apple was supposed to announce the iPhone 16 on Tuesday early in the Beijing time zone.

. Huawei had earlier declared that on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., it would introduce a new product. The Mate XT's price has not yet been disclosed by the business. Official sales of the smartphone are scheduled to begin on September 20. According to Canalys, Apple dropped out of the top five smartphone providers in China during the second quarter. According to the company, it was the first time that domestic players had all five spots. According to Canalys, Huawei shipped 10.6 million smartphones, placing it fourth in terms of market share.

. Only the top five vendors' shipments were shared by the company. Ten million phones were shipped by Apple in the first quarter. Both Huawei and its Chinese rivals currently offer flip and folding phones for sale. Apple hasn't yet entered those markets.

A team of paleontologists found matching dinosaur footprints on what are now two different continents, separated by thousands of miles of ocean.  The footprints, dating back to the Early Cretaceous period, were found in Brazil and in Cameroon , researchers wrote in a study published Monday by the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science. The discovery shows where land-dwelling dinosaurs were able to cross freely between South America and Africa before the two continents split apart millions of years ago . The study showed that the more than 260 footprints that were examined were imprinted in mud and silt along historic rivers and lakes; the footprints in South America and Africa were separated by more than 3,700 kilometers.
