Trump says he will vote to overturn Florida's 6-week abortion restriction and offers universal access to IVF treatment.

Former President Donald Trump stated that he would like to make IVF treatment free for women if he were to win a second term in office, but he did not specify how exactly this proposal would be funded or implemented.

"I'm announcing today at an event in Michigan that under the Trump administration, your insurance company will be required to pay for — or your government will pay for — all costs associated with IVF treatment," he said in a significant announcement. "Simply put, because we want more babies."
IVF procedures are infamously costly; a single round can run into the tens of thousands of dollars. It takes several rounds for many women, and success is not assured. See Here

The declaration is made at a time when Democrats have been severely criticizing Trump for his involvement in selecting the justices of the Supreme Court who reversed Roe v. Wade, ending the nation's constitutional right to an abortion. A surge of restrictions, including ones that have threatened access to IVF by attempting to define life as beginning at conception, have been implemented across Republican-led states as a result of the judgment. Several embryos must be created for IVF, some of which may be killed.

Abortion was a key issue of the party's national convention last week, including Vice President Kamala Harris' speech accepting her party's nomination. Abortion is predicted to be a major motivator for Democrats and women this November.
