Eriksson, former England and Manchester City manager, dies aged 76

Sven-Goran Eriksson, a former manager of Manchester City and England, passed away at the age of 76.

The Swedish, who took over as the first foreign manager of the England national side, revealed in January that he had been given a terminal cancer diagnosis. Read Here

"SGE (Sven-Goran Eriksson) died during the morning at home surrounded by family after a long illness," according to a statement released on his behalf by his family.

Daughter Lina, son Johan with wife Amana and granddaughter Sky, father Sven, girlfriend Yanisette and son Alcides, and brother Lars-Erik and wife Jumnong are the closest mourners.

Eriksson stated to the Swedish radio station P1 in January that he was only expected to live for a year.

Eriksson talks on his life and death in the "Sven" documentary on Amazon Prime, saying that life is about accepting death for what it is. He wants to be remembered as a kind individual who gave it his all. After departing Swedish club IF Karlstad in February 2023, where he had served as advisor, Eriksson has not been employed. Nonetheless, he captained a Liverpool Legends squad against Ajax Legends in March, calling it a dream to lead them after earlier disclosing his childhood allegiance to the side.

Disaster response officials reported that at least 14 people had died in landslides , floo ds, and swollen rivers due to a strong storm that was blowing out of the northern Philippines on Tuesday. According to the weather agency, Tropical Storm Yagi blew by Paoay town in the province of Ilocos Norte and into the South China Sea with sustained winds of up to 75 kph (47 miles per hour) and gusts of up to 125 kph (78 mph) . It was predicted to intensify into a typhoon as it hurtles across the sea to the northwest and approaches southern China. The Russian Foreign Ministry is in an effort to "clarify" the 39-year-old founder and CEO of Telegram's imprisonment. Pavel Durov , the founder and CEO of Telegram, was taken into custody at the Paris airport Bourget on suspicion of charges relating to the program. According to Buenos Aires police, Liam Payne, a former member of the boyband One Direction, died after falling from the third storey of a hotel. His age was thirty-one.  According to the police statement given to CNN, Payne passed away on Wednesday at a hotel on Costa Rica Street in the Palermo neighbourhood. Police in Buenos Aires reported that after receiving a 911 call regarding an angry guy who may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs, officers from the 14B Police Station visited the hotel on Wednesday afternoon.
